Formed through a passion for The Smiths, Clash, Nick Cave, Elvis... The Shallow Call locked themselves away in a rehearsal room in a disused chemical factory between a swingers bar and an all male sauna. There they write tales of lousy people in the lousy pubs of lousy towns, casual violence and casual sex.

Taking these songs to the road, they have toured with amongst others Reverend And The Makers, Little Man Tate, The Enemy, The Paddingtons, The Charlatans...

Their debut single FRANK BRUNO was named Steve Lamacq's Single Of The Week, and made number 8 in his end of year countdown.

They finished the year supporting The Charlatans during their UK tour, and were invited to record their second single in their studio, The single was produced by Martin Blunt, and engineered by James Spencer (The Charlatans, Haven, Johnny Marr and The Healers, New Order, Mansun) and is due for release in early June.

Right..if there is any justice in this world, then no other band is fit to lick the boots of The Shallow Call. They are the most exciting new talent around and deserve to go far. They simply have to open V. Great band..great guys..great music..oh and their manager is a top fella too! The Shallow Call to WIN..please.x

  10. Sarah Flart

Saw the show last night and this band, The Shallow Call, are by far the best. They are original yet extremely modern with a funky edge that really gets you wanting to tap your feet, or at a festival...jumping up and down until you can't breath! Awesome! The Shallow Call should and must go all the way. Good luck lads from The Flahertys. x

Great to see you again in Birmingham the other night. Brought it all back from that Liverpool gig the other month! Only the second time I've seen you and can't wait for the third. Where you guys playing next anyone know? ignore that loser below - all the talk but no music taste. Love it boys!!!

  20. Oki Dog

Indie "all you can eat" buffet that gives you music diarrhea. Not good. Shit lyrics. 5 years too late. Ooops...gotta go shit now.
