AND THE FINALISTS ARE...
We can now reveal the 14 finalists who'll be battling it out to open this year's V Festival in front of live audiences and Channel 4 cameras throughout the summer.
This week, our judges have been locked away hotly contesting the final 14. Emotions ran high but the decision was made.
One of those experts, Mags of Metropolis Music, said: "The standard of music on Road To V has been really high so it's been helpful getting everyone's feedback via ratings and the forums. Well done to everyone who's been involved."
Bands and artists were assessed on their originality, impact and 'V Factor' – their live potential to open a festival. Band ratings as well as comments in the forums also helped score highly with our judges.
Now enough of the chat, here are the bands coming to a Channel 4 screen near you.
In alphabetical order, we want to say a massive congratulations to...
1. Bo Pepper
2. The Brightlights
3. Dylan James
4. India Mill
5. Johnny Foreigner
6. The Jubilees
7. Kagura
8. Maxfield
9. New Cassettes
10. The Guests
11. Our Fold
12. Outside Royalty
13. Rosalita
14. Seven Heroes
For these 14 finalists, the journey on the Road to V has only just begun. Each band will perform live in front of hundreds of people, not to mention our judges, at Road to V gigs in Liverpool and London.
The best thing is these gigs are set to be broadcast to millions on Channel 4 in June and July. So stardom beckons. And, of course, two of them will go on to open this year's V Festival!
If your band hasn't made it to the final 14, then all's not lost. We're giving one band, plus 2 of their fans, a unique opportunity to get to the V Festival. Here's how. Road to V rewards the most driven, hard working bands in the business. Prove your passion by showing us why you and your band deserve to be there and you could be lording it up at V for the weekend.
